Payroll Risk & Compliance Expert - Remote Position for Middle East

About the Role

We are seeking a Payroll Risk & Compliance Expert to join our team in a fully remote capacity. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring payroll compliance across the Middle East, leveraging your deep expertise in local legislation to navigate complex regulatory landscapes. As a key player in our organization, you will help us build a compliant and efficient global payroll system.

What You'll Do

• Own compliance for your country or region, ensuring local requirements are accurately interpreted and implemented.
• Translate statutory rules and payroll logic into structured requirements for Product and Engineering teams.
• Lead complex audits and compliance programs, establishing scalable audit frameworks.
• Serve as the primary escalation point for compliance issues, partnering cross-functionally to resolve incidents swiftly.
• Create clear, scalable processes for payroll compliance operations, including developing controls and monitoring mechanisms.
• Build training materials and documentation to upskill internal teams and maintain high-quality compliance documentation.
• Engage with stakeholders across Product, Engineering, Legal, and Support to ensure compliance is embedded in decision-making.
• Achieve high stakeholder satisfaction by being responsive and proactive in your approach.

Requirements

• Deep expertise in payroll and employment compliance for your region.
• Proven record leading audits and regulatory reviews.
• Experience partnering with technical teams to convert statutory rules into product requirements.
• Strong communication skills to influence stakeholders effectively.
• Ability to operate in a fast-changing, fully remote environment.
• Experience in mentoring and coaching team members.
• Systems thinking to design frameworks and processes that scale.
