Part-Time Accountant - Remote Opportunity

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Part-Time Accountant to join our team at The Arc Los Angeles and Orange Counties. This remote opportunity allows you to support our Accounting Department while working alongside the Chief Financial Officer. As a Part-Time Accountant, you will play a crucial role in managing financial tasks and ensuring compliance with various regulations.

What You'll Do

• Assist with monthly financial analysis and preparation of financial statements.
• Perform daily cash management activities, including online banking transactions.
• Prepare monthly bank reconciliations and assist in month-end close activities.
• Support budget and forecast activities, ensuring accurate financial reporting.
• Manage billing and accounting for multiple programs and lines of business.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory filings, including tax returns and 1099-MISC filings.
• Prepare journal entries and assist in audit preparation as needed.
• Provide HR support through data entry and system management.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of general accounting experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and QuickBooks or similar accounting software.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and time management skills.
• Fluent in English; Spanish proficiency preferred.

Nice to Have

• Experience in nonprofit accounting.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
• Current Red Cross First Aid and CPR certification.
