Paralegal - Remote Opportunity in Legal, Risk and Compliance

About the Role

We are hiring a Paralegal to join our team at LRQA, a leading global assurance provider. This Paralegal remote opportunity is based in Birmingham, England, where you will work in a hybrid model, spending at least three days per week in the office. As a Paralegal, you will support our Legal, Risk, and Compliance functions, providing essential assistance to both in-house lawyers and compliance professionals.

What You'll Do

• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts while ensuring compliance with legal standards.
• Conduct sanctions screening and support commercial due diligence related to mergers and acquisitions.
• Assist with legal research and prepare well-structured advice notes for internal stakeholders.
• Contribute to compliance initiatives, including data protection and monitoring regulatory developments.
• Support risk management activities by gathering information and preparing documentation.
• Maintain accurate records and trackers related to contracts and compliance matters.
• Prepare reports and briefing packs for internal stakeholders to facilitate decision-making.
• Engage in continuous improvement initiatives across the Legal and Risk & Compliance teams.

Requirements

• Experience as a Paralegal in a commercial team, either in private practice or in-house.
• Strong drafting skills and comfort working with commercial contracts.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Highly organized with a keen attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• A proactive, can-do attitude with a high level of energy and curiosity.
• A genuine team player with strong core values aligned to our purpose and culture.
• Willingness to attend the Birmingham office at least three days per week.

Nice to Have

• Experience supporting risk, compliance, investigations, or M&A activity.
• Exposure to GDPR, sanctions, KYC, or other regulatory frameworks.
• Interest in CSR, ethics, sustainability, or responsible business topics.
• A law degree is welcomed but not required.
