Operations Manager - Food Nutrition Programs (Remote)
About the Role
We are seeking an Operations Manager - Food Nutrition Programs (Remote) to join our team at Whitsons Culinary Group. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining systems and procedures for all aspects of Food Nutrition Programs, assisting the District Manager in overall operations. This position requires staying current on all State and USDA regulations and ensuring compliance with the USDA Professional Standards and Whitsons Food Safety certification requirements. Frequent travel to various locations is required.
What You'll Do
- Assume the General Manager role when necessary, covering accounts or districts during absences.
- Support the GM/DM in maintaining systems for ordering, receiving, storing, preparing, and serving food products.
- Assist in menu planning and development using Whitsons approved systems and policies.
- Motivate, train, and manage subordinate team members, ensuring a harmonious working relationship.
- Ensure compliance with health regulations and prepare schools for inspections.
- Work with the team to develop budgets and operational financial forecasts.
- Recruit, hire, and retain team members using company procedures.
- Participate in wellness and nutrition committees and meetings as requested.
Requirements
- 2-5 years of experience in operations management, preferably in food services.
- Strong knowledge of USDA regulations and food safety standards.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Ability to develop and manage budgets effectively.
- Experience in menu planning and food service operations.
Nice to Have
- Experience in a school food service environment.
- Knowledge of marketing and merchandising strategies.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems.
