About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our team in providing exceptional care to patients undergoing abdominal transplant procedures. What You'll Do
- Provide direct patient care services for surgically and medically ill adult transplant and general surgery patients.
- Conduct physical exams, collect and document patient data, and perform necessary diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
- Order and schedule laboratory studies and professional consultations to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Prescribe appropriate interventions and medications in collaboration with supervising physicians.
- Coordinate patient care and discharge processes, ensuring a smooth transition for patients.
- Participate in educational initiatives for students, medical residents, and fellows, enhancing the learning environment.
- Engage in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care standards.
- Collaborate with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals to provide continuity of care.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant Program or an accredited MSN/DNP Acute Care Nurse Practitioner program.
- Certification as PA-C or ACNP/AGACNP is required.
- Current unrestricted medical license issued by NCMB for PAs or RN license for NPs.
- Minimum of three years as a registered nurse, with at least one year as an Acute Care NP in an inpatient setting.
- Life support certifications: BLS and ACLS.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with healthcare teams.
- Ability to perform physical tasks and manage patient care effectively.
- Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
Nice to Have
- Experience in a surgical setting is preferred.
- Leadership experience in clinical areas.
- Familiarity with electronic health record systems.
