About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our team in providing exceptional care to patients undergoing abdominal transplant procedures. This Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant remote position allows you to leverage your clinical expertise while contributing to a leading healthcare institution.

What You'll Do

  • Provide direct patient care services for surgically and medically ill adult transplant and general surgery patients.
  • Conduct physical exams, collect and document patient data, and perform necessary diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
  • Order and schedule laboratory studies and professional consultations to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Prescribe appropriate interventions and medications in collaboration with supervising physicians.
  • Coordinate patient care and discharge processes, ensuring a smooth transition for patients.
  • Participate in educational initiatives for students, medical residents, and fellows, enhancing the learning environment.
  • Engage in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care standards.
  • Collaborate with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals to provide continuity of care.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant Program or an accredited MSN/DNP Acute Care Nurse Practitioner program.
  • Certification as PA-C or ACNP/AGACNP is required.
  • Current unrestricted medical license issued by NCMB for PAs or RN license for NPs.
  • Minimum of three years as a registered nurse, with at least one year as an Acute Care NP in an inpatient setting.
  • Life support certifications: BLS and ACLS.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with healthcare teams.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks and manage patient care effectively.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in a surgical setting is preferred.
  • Leadership experience in clinical areas.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record systems.
