About the Role
We're hiring a Network Software Engineering Specialist to join our team remotely. In this role, you will focus on the design, development, and deployment of network-specific technology domains, making significant contributions to Telstra's mission of building a connected future.
What You'll Do
- Design and develop APIs and interfaces to connect internal models/applications with external systems (northbound/southbound).
- Lead the migration from legacy interfaces to strategic, modern APIs.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Ensure interfaces are secure, scalable, and meet performance standards.
- Document interface specifications, integration patterns, and operational procedures.
- Support deployment and integration activities in development, staging, and production environments.
- Troubleshoot and resolve integration issues.
- Stay current with industry standards (e.g., TMF APIs) and best practices for interface design.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or Telecommunications.
- Proficiency in programming languages like Python.
- Experience with REST/gRPC APIs, event-driven systems, and messaging platforms (Kafka, RabbitMQ).
- Familiarity with authentication and authorization standards (OAuth, JWT, etc.).
- Hands-on experience with version control (Git) and CI/CD pipelines.
- Understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Advanced oral and written communication skills.
Nice to Have
- Experience in the Camunda platform.
- gRPC event-triggered automation development.
- Experience developing network-centric tools and systems.
- Scripting skills in Python or other programming languages.
