Network Software Engineering Specialist - Remote Opportunity

About the Role

We're hiring a Network Software Engineering Specialist to join our team remotely. In this role, you will focus on the design, development, and deployment of network-specific technology domains, making significant contributions to Telstra's mission of building a connected future.

What You'll Do

  • Design and develop APIs and interfaces to connect internal models/applications with external systems (northbound/southbound).
  • Lead the migration from legacy interfaces to strategic, modern APIs.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Ensure interfaces are secure, scalable, and meet performance standards.
  • Document interface specifications, integration patterns, and operational procedures.
  • Support deployment and integration activities in development, staging, and production environments.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve integration issues.
  • Stay current with industry standards (e.g., TMF APIs) and best practices for interface design.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or Telecommunications.
  • Proficiency in programming languages like Python.
  • Experience with REST/gRPC APIs, event-driven systems, and messaging platforms (Kafka, RabbitMQ).
  • Familiarity with authentication and authorization standards (OAuth, JWT, etc.).
  • Hands-on experience with version control (Git) and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Advanced oral and written communication skills.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in the Camunda platform.
  • gRPC event-triggered automation development.
  • Experience developing network-centric tools and systems.
  • Scripting skills in Python or other programming languages.
