About the Role
We are seeking a talented Network Engineer to join our team at Northrop Grumman. This Network Engineer remote position offers an exciting opportunity to work on revolutionary systems that impact people's lives around the world. You will be part of an interdisciplinary team focused on developing, integrating, and maintaining cutting-edge network systems.
What You'll Do
- Collaborate with engineers to troubleshoot and refine documented procedures.
- Implement engineering changes to the network systems as required.
- Integrate and test network software and hardware systems in complex environments.
- Work closely with engineers and technicians in a lab setting.
- Plan, communicate, and document network tasks effectively.
- Configure and troubleshoot common network devices, including Cisco IOS.
- Travel up to 25% of the time for project needs.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM discipline and 2 years of related engineering experience; or a Master’s degree in a STEM discipline.
- Understanding of IPv4 networks, Ethernet, UDP, and TCP/IP.
- Familiarity with Cisco hardware, data centers, and network cabling.
- Experience with Windows and Linux configuration and troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of AGILE processes and SCRUM tools (JIRA, Confluence).
- Must possess an active DoD Secret clearance and the ability to obtain Top Secret clearance.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance.
Nice to Have
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification.
- Understanding of IP subnetting and routing protocols such as OSPF and EIGRP.
- Knowledge of virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware).
- Familiarity with tactical wireless communications technologies.
