Network Engineer III - Remote Overnight Shift

About the Role

We are hiring for a Network Engineer III remote position to support a large-scale, multi-vendor nationwide network. This role focuses on network configuration, upgrades, and maintenance during overnight windows, ensuring accuracy and zero-impact changes. As a Network Engineer III remote, you will work independently during the overnight shift from 12:00 AM to 5:00 AM, Monday to Friday.

What You'll Do

• Perform network configuration changes and OS upgrades on Cisco, Juniper, and Nokia devices.
• Execute changes during overnight maintenance windows to ensure network stability.
• Support the transition from VXLAN to eNSE platform (SDN/virtualized network).
• Configure and troubleshoot routers, switches, and circuits.
• Utilize automation tools like Python, NSO, DCNM, and Nuage to enhance network operations.
• Conduct pre/post checks to ensure network stability and reliability.
• Review and execute MOPs (Method of Procedures) for network changes.
• Collaborate with engineering, operations, and field teams to deliver seamless network services.

Requirements

• Strong experience with Cisco, Juniper, and Nokia devices.
• Deep understanding of MPLS, BGP, OSPF, L2/L3 VPNs, and IPv4/IPv6.
• Hands-on CLI experience with IOS, XR, NX-OS, and JunOS.
• Experience with Layer 1–3 networking and troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of VXLAN, spine-leaf architecture, and VRFs.
• Ability to work overnight shifts independently.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills.

Nice to Have

• CCNA / CCNP certification.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or OpenStack.
• Exposure to automation tools like Ansible and Python.
• Background in large-scale telecom or data center networks.
