About the Role

We are seeking a talented and innovative Multidisciplinary Brand Designer and Professor to join our team in a remote capacity. As a key member of the Communication Design Foundation Program, you will play a vital role in shaping the future of design education while contributing to the development of a comprehensive curriculum that aligns with the latest industry trends. This position offers a unique opportunity to influence the next generation of designers and to engage with a diverse student body.

What You'll Do

  • Lead and teach foundational courses in brand design at both the Associate and Bachelor levels, emphasizing experiential learning and critical design thinking.
  • Develop and implement a curriculum that integrates various design disciplines, including consumer product packaging, motion graphics, and interactive design.
  • Foster a collaborative learning environment that encourages creativity, curiosity, and a love of learning among students.
  • Engage in professional development and maintain strong connections within the brand design discipline to ensure curriculum relevance and innovation.
  • Coordinate student internships and provide mentorship to help students transition into successful careers in brand design.
  • Participate in departmental activities and contribute to college-wide service initiatives, enhancing the overall educational experience.
  • Utilize technology and course management systems to deliver engaging course material and facilitate student learning.
  • Model professional behavior and cultivate relationships with industry stakeholders to support student success and program development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related design field with a minimum of six (6) years of professional experience in brand design.
  • At least three (3) years of academic experience, either as an adjunct or full-time faculty member.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and a commitment to learning new technologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to inspire and engage students through innovative teaching methods and a student-centered approach.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing expertise in experiential brand design, including brand strategy, graphic design, and consumer product packaging.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with faculty, students, and industry partners.
  • Commitment to professional development and active engagement in the brand design community.

Nice to Have

  • Master's degree in design, business, or a related field.
  • Experience with online teaching and blended learning environments.
  • Familiarity with emerging technologies and trends in brand design.
