Middle Front-End Engineer - Full-Stack Oriented

About the Role

We’re looking for a Middle Front-End Engineer (remote) with a full-stack mindset to join Matic’s team. As a Middle Front-End Engineer, you will play a crucial role in building a suite of new web products from scratch, aimed at making insurance easier for homeowners across the US. In this position, you won't just be coding mockups; you will own the user interface and the engineering logic behind it. We pay extreme attention to detail – whether it’s architecting a reusable component library or optimizing the state management of a multi-step insurance application. While your primary expertise is the front end, you should be eager to dive into the full stack, leveraging AI capabilities to navigate the backend and ensure features are delivered seamlessly from end to end.

What You'll Do

• Lead the development of modern applications, taking ownership of the UI and the logic that powers it.
• Be a key player in the product development cycle – from the first brainstorm with designers to the final verification before launch.
• Work as a peer with Product Managers and Designers to ensure our technical implementation matches our high standards for UX.
• Participate in thoughtful code reviews and share your knowledge to help us constantly improve our technical approach.

Requirements

• Strong knowledge of modern TypeScript and JavaScript (ES6+) for building reliable, scalable applications.
• Good experience with React and building fast, reusable components.
• Skilled in writing clean HTML and CSS, focusing on Responsive Design that works well on all screens.
• Experienced with testing frameworks (Playwright, Vitest) and committed to writing verified, reliable code.
• Willingness to use AI and modern tools, even on the backend, when it helps the product move forward.
• Intermediate English level or higher for clear communication with a global team.

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Knowledge of Ruby on Rails is a plus (ability to understand the code and implement logic alongside our backend engineers); otherwise, a desire to learn the stack.
• Background in A/B testing or using data to improve the UI.
• Experience managing the development of small products or micro-frontends.
