About the Role

We are seeking a Mid-Senior Distribution Engineer Representative to join our team at Georgia Power, a subsidiary of Southern Company. This position is based in Augusta, Georgia, and while it is not remote, we offer relocation support for the right candidate. As a Distribution Engineer Representative, you will manage day-to-day engineering activities, ensuring superior customer service and efficient project execution.

What You'll Do

  • Handle all engineering work activities in the Augusta Distribution Area.
  • Design services, estimate costs, and coordinate construction for overhead and underground projects.
  • Prepare and schedule construction jobs to meet committed service dates.
  • Write and execute switching orders to maintain and operate the distribution system effectively.
  • Process documentation in accordance with compliance requirements.
  • Assist with customer inquiries, including voltage complaints and claims.
  • Participate in on-call trouble supervision rotation, available after hours for local and out-of-state issues.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure project success and customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in distribution engineering is preferred.
  • Knowledge of electrical system operations and construction principles is essential.
  • Proficient in MS Office and engineering software systems.
  • Strong technical skills in power systems and project management.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective customer interactions.
  • Valid driver's license is required.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects under strict deadlines.
  • Must demonstrate a commitment to safety and customer service excellence.

Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with ARMS, JETS, GIS, and other engineering tools.
  • Experience writing and executing switching orders.
  • Knowledge of the Franchise Manual and Distribution Operating Procedures.
