About the Role
We're seeking a talented Mid-Senior Application Developer - Autonomous Networks to join our dynamic team at Telstra. In this remote role, you'll be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying software applications that enhance the management and exposure of domain resources. You'll create scalable, secure, and high-performing solutions aligned with Telstra's technology roadmap, ensuring delivery to defined service-level standards.
What You'll Do
- Design, develop, and maintain applications that support autonomous network functions such as intent ingestion, policy enforcement, and optimization pipelines.
- Implement APIs and microservices that integrate with network controllers, orchestrators, OSS/BSS systems, and vendor platforms.
- Build tools that automate network planning, design, configuration, provisioning, assurance, capacity management, and lifecycle operations.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives for systems and processes, aligning with best-practice standards.
- Work within Agile frameworks to maximize efficiency and deliver value rapidly.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in software engineering, Computer Science, Telecommunications Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Experience in application development within telecom or large-scale distributed systems.
- Strong programming skills in Python, including microservices development.
- Experience with REST/gRPC APIs, event-driven systems, and messaging platforms (Kafka, RabbitMQ).
- Familiarity with cloud-native development: Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines.
Nice to Have
- Experience developing systems for OSS/BSS, network orchestration, or SDN/NFV.
- Exposure to AI/ML for network analytics or autonomous decision-making.
- Experience building digital twins or network simulation tools.
