Mid-Level Tester - Remote Role for U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs

About the Role

GovCIO is currently hiring for a Tester - Remote to support the Readiness and Employment System (RES) contract within the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. This position will be a fully remote role, allowing you to contribute to meaningful projects from anywhere in the United States.

What You'll Do

• Design, develop, and implement testing methods and equipment to ensure that the product performs to specifications.
• Plan and arrange the labor, schedules, and equipment required for testing and evaluating the product.
• Create test cases for test plans and develop test scenarios in which tests are carried out.
• Compile data, define required changes, and report defects and problems that occurred during the test process.
• Consult with the development and/or requirements team to coordinate and test applications.
• Perform analysis, diagnostics, and preliminary evaluations of products.
• Develop testing procedures, test plans, scripts, scenarios, functional tests, regression tests, and deployment tests.
• Implement the testing processes and ensure all test activities follow those processes.
• Produce reports on each test activity and track test metrics.
• Monitor for continual test process improvement through failure analysis, throughput analysis, yield analysis, and report to management periodically.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree with 5 - 8 years of relevant experience.
• Experience with Jira or other test management tools.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• U.S. citizenship or permanent residency required for federal background investigation standards.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies is preferred.

Nice to Have

• Experience in automated testing.
• Knowledge of various testing methodologies and tools.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a remote team environment.
