About the Role

At Anchorage Digital, we are seeking a skilled Member of Technical Staff, Backend Engineer to join our innovative team. This remote backend engineer position is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the world’s most advanced digital asset platform for institutions participating in crypto. You will be part of a full stack engineering team focused on enhancing client onboarding experiences through back-end APIs, ensuring compliance, and supporting transaction monitoring.

What You'll Do

  • Design and build maintainable and extensible backend solutions for our digital asset platform.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including compliance and legal, to ensure regulatory commitments are met.
  • Capture critical data for record-keeping and auditing purposes.
  • Support transaction monitoring and screening for risk detection and fraud prevention.
  • Lead or significantly contribute to medium-to-large projects, breaking them down into manageable tasks.
  • Mentor and guide team members, sharing knowledge and fostering a collaborative environment.
  • Analyze trade-offs and recommend priorities based on project requirements.
  • Continuously improve code quality, test infrastructure, and architecture.

Requirements

  • Real-world experience building complex distributed systems.
  • Strong understanding of code quality, test infrastructure, and extensible architecture.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced agile environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with concurrency, algorithms, and data structures.
  • Experience with technologies such as GraphQL, gRPC, and Temporal is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with various teams.
  • Experience in implementing regulatory compliance controls in the financial services industry is a bonus.
