What You'll Do

  • Develop and maintain software for robot localisation and mapping (SLAM).
  • Work with LiDAR data to enhance navigation accuracy.
  • Build and optimise odometry and mapping algorithms.
  • Utilise ROS 2, C++, and Python to create robust, scalable systems.
  • Integrate data from multiple sensors, including LiDAR, IMU, and cameras.
  • Collaborate with engineering and deployment teams to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Support real-world testing and field deployments as required.

Requirements

  • Experience with SLAM, localisation, or robotics perception systems in LiDAR applications.
  • Strong programming skills in C++ and/or Python.
  • Familiarity with ROS or ROS 2.
  • Previous experience with LiDAR or similar sensor-based systems.
  • Experience working in a Linux environment.
  • Knowledge of working with real-world sensor data.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with SLAM frameworks (e.g., Cartographer, LOAM, LIO-SAM).
  • Understanding of sensor fusion or state estimation.
  • Experience with point cloud processing (PCL, Open3D).
  • Evidence of practical work through projects, deployments, or open-source contributions.
