Legal Fellow - Local Tax Policy (Remote)

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Legal Fellow for Local Tax Policy to join our team remotely. As a Legal Fellow, you will play a crucial role in supporting local taxing authority research and ensuring equitable opportunities for children and youth across communities. What You'll Do

• Conduct comprehensive 50-state legal and policy research related to local taxing authorities.
• Monitor and analyze trends affecting local taxing authority operations.
• Translate complex legal structures into practical tools and guidance for community coordinators.
• Provide technical assistance and coaching to enhance the capacity of community coordinators.
• Develop training content and support materials to facilitate effective fund administration.
• Support contract and grant management for the local taxing authority portfolio.
• Collaborate across teams to ensure successful project delivery and outcomes.
• Participate in meetings and represent the organization in various forums.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support the mission of the organization.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and a valid license to practice law.
• Experience in legal research and constitutional analysis is essential.
• Excellent writing and communication skills to convey complex information clearly.
• Strong organizational and project management skills to handle multiple tasks effectively.
• Ability to collaborate across teams and contribute to a supportive work environment.
• Commitment to advancing equitable opportunities for children and youth through legal frameworks.
