Lean Operations Associate - Japanese Speaker (Remote)

About the Role

We are looking for a Lean Operations Associate (Remote) to join our dynamic team at APM Terminals. In this role, you will be instrumental in driving lean practices across our global terminal network while supporting our Sensei Program. You will leverage your language skills in Japanese and English to facilitate communication and enhance lean methodologies.

What You'll Do

• Support the Dojo Master with translation between Japanese and English, ensuring effective communication of lean principles.
• Drive the adoption of lean practices, focusing on KAIZEN and coaching terminal management.
• Provide specialized knowledge and best practices for process development and optimization.
• Improve awareness of process compliance through training and audits.
• Assist in problem-solving training sessions and support the overall needs of the Dojo Master.

Requirements

• Industrial engineering background or similar experience.
• Fluency in English, Spanish, and Japanese, with strong verbal and written interpretation skills.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
• Willingness to learn and apply lean practices in a practical context.
• Passion for driving change and enabling improvements within the organization.

Nice to Have

• Experience with lean practices such as TPM, 6 big losses, and problem-solving.
• Knowledge of developing and implementing global standards and policies.
