Lead Software Engineer - Smart Control Systems (Remote)

About the Role

We are seeking a Lead Software Engineer to join our Smart Control Systems team. This remote position allows you to leverage your extensive experience in software management to drive innovation and performance while maintaining a human-centered approach. As a Lead Software Engineer, you will be at the forefront of developing embedded software solutions for Potain cranes, working alongside a multidisciplinary team of 15 engineers.

What You'll Do

• Define and implement the technical vision for embedded software, focusing on architecture, security, and testing.
• Ensure quality and performance through agile processes that foster innovation and compliance.
• Guide teams in agile maturity, negotiating budgets and tools necessary for success.
• Develop talent by fostering a culture of feedback, autonomy, and well-being.
• Communicate transparently with managers and stakeholders to align strategy with operational goals.
• Represent Manitowoc/Potain, advocating for technical interests and celebrating internal and external successes.

Requirements

• Over 10 years of experience in software production management.
• Strong solutions-oriented mindset with a pragmatic and positive attitude.
• Experience in agile transformation and change management.
• Familiarity with agile methodologies such as Scrum, Kanban, and XP.
• Solid technical background in software, embedded systems, cloud, and cybersecurity.
• Excellent communication skills to simplify complex topics.
• Negotiation and influence skills to support team interests for the benefit of the company.
• Curiosity and innovation, with a passion for challenging the status quo.
• Engineering degree (Master's or equivalent) and professional English proficiency required.

• Experience with IoT systems.
• Knowledge of industry standards and regulations.
• Previous experience in a leadership role within a similar industry.
