Lead Azure Architect - Remote Opportunity

About the Role

Join Nordcloud as a Lead Azure Architect and be part of the European cloud revolution. This Lead Azure Architect remote position is an exciting opportunity to supercharge our customers' innovation in hyperscaler cloud, enabling seamless migration, advanced security, and data-driven success.

What You'll Do

• Participate in various customer projects, from new infrastructure builds and migrations to audits and big data.
• Implement configuration management infrastructure effectively.
• Coach and lead a small Azure team of architects and engineers, overseeing delivery engagements and supporting presales and sales architecture.
• Manage people line management tasks such as appraisals, holiday approvals, and allocating work resources.
• Become a trusted advisor for high-profile enterprise businesses, jointly managing customer relationships and roadmaps with the Nordcloud Sales team.
• Follow customer projects from start to release, wearing different ‘hats’ as needed.
• Be prepared to travel within the UK and other locations in Europe as required.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience with Cloud Architecture Design and/or Cloud Architectural Patterns for Development.
• Experience leading other Cloud Architects and managing delivery engagements.
• Advanced knowledge of Azure; familiarity with other cloud providers is a plus.
• Solid engineering/technical background with hands-on experience in architecting cloud solutions.
• Previous experience in designing and delivering systems based on IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS offerings.
• DevOps skills for leading the team and consulting with customers.
• Experience with building CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of security, networking, virtualization, load balancers, storage, and databases.
• Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for managing the cloud.
• Coding/scripting skills in Bash, Python, PowerShell, or similar.
• Fluent communication skills in English.

Nice to Have

• Experience with container technologies (e.g., Kubernetes, OpenShift).
• Active customer consultant and pre-sales attitude.
