Junior Full Stack Developer - Remote Position

About the Role

We're hiring a Junior Full Stack Developer to join the Patrick J. McGovern Foundation in a remote position. As a Junior Full Stack Developer, you will help us build technology that matters, contributing to impactful AI and data science solutions.

What You'll Do

• Collaborate with a small, high-trust team to develop cloud-based tools that translate machine learning insights into actionable applications.
• Contribute to the entire development lifecycle, including cloud architecture, backend services, and user-facing applications.
• Engage in collaborative development with the Director, Data Scientist, and other team members to ensure high-quality output.
• Support nonprofit partners by explaining technical concepts with empathy and clarity.
• Design, develop, and deploy full-stack applications for cloud-based solutions.
• Implement intuitive user interfaces for AI-backed web and mobile applications.
• Participate in cross-functional collaboration to address communication and resource needs.
• Seek feedback through code reviews and pair programming to enhance your skills.

Requirements

• 1-3 years of professional experience in full-stack development.
• Proficiency in JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and modern front-end frameworks like React.
• Strong programming experience with Python or Go.
• Familiarity with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and cloud services (AWS).
• Excellent communication skills to convey technical concepts effectively.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a high-performance, startup-like environment.

Nice to Have

• Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., GitHub Actions).
• Familiarity with NoSQL systems (e.g., MongoDB).
• Experience with containerization (e.g., Docker) and orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes).
