Junior Cloud Database Administrator - Remote Position

About the Role

We are seeking a Junior Cloud Database Administrator to join our dynamic team at Wilcore Technologies, Inc. This remote position is contingent upon contract award and will support a large federal healthcare program. As a Junior Cloud Database Administrator, you will manage cloud-hosted databases, support data integrations with external systems, and ensure smooth operations behind the scenes.

What You'll Do

• Manage and maintain cloud-hosted databases in a secure environment.
• Support data integrations with external systems, ensuring data flows smoothly.
• Utilize SQL and scripting languages (such as Python or Bash) for database management.
• Monitor database performance and implement backups as needed.
• Collaborate with developers, analysts, and security teams to troubleshoot issues.
• Document processes and communicate effectively with team members.

Requirements

• Must have 2+ years of experience in a backend or infrastructure role.
• Solid experience with SQL and basic scripting languages.
• Familiarity with AWS environments, preferably with LiquidBase.
• Understanding of APIs, data flows, and backend integrations (REST, SOAP, HL7).
• Excellent troubleshooting skills and a willingness to learn in a high-security environment.
• Must be a US Citizen and able to attain low-level security clearance.

Nice to Have

• Exposure to VA systems, healthcare data, or federal environments.
• Experience with Oracle, InterSystems IRIS / HealthShare, or MUMPS.
• Familiarity with DevOps tools such as Git, Docker, Jenkins, and Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of data security standards and handling of PHI/PII.
