Intake Specialist - Remote Opportunity
About the Role
We are seeking an Intake Specialist to join our team remotely. As an Intake Specialist, you will be the first point of contact for patients and healthcare providers, ensuring timely and accurate processing of medical device orders. This role is essential in delivering high-quality service and life-changing equipment to those in need.
What You'll Do
- Serve as the primary contact for incoming patient and provider requests.
- Gather and verify all intake information, documentation, and medical orders.
- Enter accurate data into EMR/EHR, CRM, and order-management systems.
- Review prescriptions, insurance requirements, and compliance documents.
- Coordinate with clinical teams, customer service, and insurance verification.
- Ensure devices and equipment orders meet regulatory standards (HIPAA, FDA, DME requirements).
- Track order status and follow up as needed.
- Provide compassionate, professional support to patients and partners.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent (Required).
- 1 year of customer service experience.
- 1 year experience in healthcare intake, medical office, DME, customer service, or related field, preferred.
- Knowledge of HCPC codes, preferred.
- Proficient with MS Suite, digital documentation, and multitasking tools.
Nice to Have
- Experience with EHR, CRM, or order-management software (preferred).
- Knowledge of medical terminology, DME, or medical office processes (a plus, but not required).
- Team-oriented, dependable, and comfortable working cross-departmentally.
