Project Manager - Life Sciences (Remote)

About the Role

We are seeking a Project Manager - Life Sciences to join our team at Smithers. This remote Project Manager position offers an exciting opportunity to manage complex projects in the medical device testing sector. You will play a crucial role in overseeing client projects from proposal to delivery, ensuring operational excellence across our UK and European operations.

What You'll Do

• Lead the end-to-end management of client projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.
• Prepare quotes and manage scope changes while hosting program management calls with clients.
• Collaborate with technical and commercial stakeholders to deliver high-value proposals.
• Support improvements to internal systems and processes, contributing to profitability reviews and strategic analysis.
• Represent Smithers MDT at conferences and exhibitions, enhancing our profile in the industry.
• Utilize your strong communication skills to manage client relationships and conduct risk assessments.
• Work with CRM and PM software to streamline project management processes.
• Occasionally travel to client sites and industry events across Europe.

Requirements

• At least four years of experience in a technical or project management role, preferably in a scientific, engineering, or quality-driven environment.
• A degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Forensic Science, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent industry experience.
• Strong communication skills and high attention to detail.
• Experience with medical device testing or laboratory practices is a strong advantage.
• Familiarity with client communication, risk assessments, and project management software.
• Foreign language skills (French, German, or Spanish) are beneficial but not essential.

Nice to Have

• Experience in the life sciences or analytical testing industry.
• Proven ability to juggle multiple priorities in a commercial environment.
