HSE Director - Remote Opportunity in Recycling

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced HSE Director to join our team in a remote capacity, focusing on Recycling. As the HSE Director, you will play a critical role in developing and maintaining HSE capability and competence throughout our organization, fostering a culture where safety is paramount. You will lead a network of HSE core team members across our Recycling plants in Europe and the USA, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and internal directives.

What You'll Do

• Develop and implement an HSE roadmap focusing on key priorities and monitoring execution and impact.
• Conduct safety risk assessments and ensure appropriate governance systems are in place.
• Lead safety audits and training initiatives across all Recycling plants.
• Support sites with HSE expertise and provide direct assistance in investigating serious incidents.
• Drive a strong team structure across the plants, fostering best practice transfer and learning.
• Collaborate with other functions in Aluminium Metal to support strategic objectives and growth.

Requirements

• Proven experience in HSE management, particularly in the recycling or manufacturing sectors.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence and motivate teams.
• In-depth knowledge of safety regulations and compliance standards.
• Experience in conducting safety audits and risk assessments.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Nice to Have

• Experience in a multinational environment.
• Familiarity with Synergi or similar HSE management systems.
• Advanced degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health, or related field.
