Host - Restaurant Operations Support

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Host to join our team at Coal Town Public House. As a Host, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our restaurant. This position is perfect for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and has a passion for providing excellent customer service. The Host position is responsible for providing organizational and operational support to the management staff for the efficient operations of the restaurant. You will oversee Open Table reservations, seat guests, and assist in training new hosts, all while maintaining a positive atmosphere.

What You'll Do

• Oversee Open Table reservations and create a daily game plan for seating.
• Welcome guests warmly and ensure they are seated in a timely manner.
• Train new employees hired as hosts, ensuring they understand their responsibilities.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the host and bathroom areas.
• Handle inquiries for private events and assist management with guest relations.
• Answer incoming phone calls and check voicemails promptly.
• Exhibit dependable and trustworthy conduct throughout your shift.
• Provide exemplary guest service consistently, contributing to overall guest satisfaction.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
• Minimum of one year’s experience in a fast-paced restaurant/bar environment.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Knowledge of Teamwork and Toast POS system is a plus.
• Excellent verbal communication skills and ability to multitask.
• Strong interpersonal skills to interact professionally with guests and coworkers.
• Ability to work under pressure in a busy environment.
• Food Handlers Card and ABC Service Certification preferred.

Nice to Have

• CPR certification and/or First Aid training preferred.
• Additional language skills are a plus.
