High-Performance Linux Engineer - Remote Opportunity

$150K–$300K/year

About the Role

We are seeking a High-Performance Linux Engineer to join our dynamic team in a remote capacity. In this role, you will design and optimize the infrastructure powering real-time systems at scale. This is not a standard infrastructure role; you’ll be working in a highly customized bare-metal environment where every microsecond matters. Your work will directly impact how efficiently the entire technology stack performs, making this an exciting opportunity for those looking to advance their careers in high-performance computing.

What You'll Do

  • Design and operate a global fleet of high-performance Linux servers across multiple data centers.
  • Build and evolve infrastructure that supports demanding, real-time workloads.
  • Optimize system performance at every layer, from hardware interaction to OS-level tuning.
  • Develop automation-first solutions to improve scalability, consistency, and operational efficiency.
  • Use observability data to drive performance improvements and capacity planning.
  • Explore and implement new technologies to push system performance and reliability further.
  • Collaborate across infrastructure, networking, and software teams to solve complex, cross-domain challenges.

Requirements

  • Strong experience in Linux engineering, including system administration, debugging, and OS provisioning.
  • Deep understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, UDP/TCP, multicast, packet analysis).
  • Hands-on experience with diagnostic tools such as eBPF, tcpdump, strace, lsof, and netcat.
  • Proven expertise in kernel and hardware-level performance tuning (CPU pinning, cache optimization, BIOS/UEFI).
  • Experience with infrastructure automation using Python and modern tooling.
  • Familiarity with monitoring and observability stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, Elastic, etc.).
  • Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Ansible and Terraform.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a high-performance, fast-paced environment.

Nice to Have

  • Curiosity and drive to continuously improve systems and learn new technologies.

What We Offer

  • €150,000 - €300,000 total compensation, depending on experience.
  • Full relocation and visa sponsorship where applicable.
  • Comprehensive health insurance and wellbeing support.
  • First-class commuting and premium in-office perks, including meals and wellness services.
  • Generous learning and development budget for certifications, training, and conferences.
  • A highly collaborative, engineering-driven culture focused on performance and innovation.
