Head of People Operations - AI Technology Startup

About the Role

We are seeking a Head of People Operations to join our fast-growing AI technology startup. This Head of People Operations remote position will allow you to build and scale the operational backbone of our global people function while enjoying the flexibility of remote work on weekends as needed.

What You’ll Do

• Own and optimize HR systems including HRIS, payroll, and benefits administration.
• Build scalable and reliable processes that support rapid growth in a high-performance environment.
• Oversee the employee lifecycle, ensuring a seamless experience from onboarding to offboarding.
• Design and implement structured HR policies and procedures to bring clarity and consistency.
• Drive analytics and reporting across headcount, retention, attrition, and performance metrics.
• Ensure compliance with local employment laws across multiple jurisdictions.
• Act as a trusted HR business partner to leadership on performance management and organizational design.
• Manage documentation and internal compliance processes effectively.

Requirements

• 8–10+ years of experience in People Operations, HR, or related roles within high-growth technology companies.
• Experience supporting international workforces.
• Strong ability to operate in ambiguity while building structure and systems.
• Deep understanding of employment law and compliance.
• Proven ability to partner closely with senior leadership.
• High integrity and discretion when handling sensitive information.

• Base salary ranging from $170,000 to $225,000.
