About the Role

We are looking for a Freelance Senior Linguist - Marketing & Life Sciences (Remote) to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will leverage your expertise in translation and localization to deliver high-quality content in Afrikaans. As a key contributor, you will work with a global transformation partner, ensuring that marketing and life sciences materials resonate with the target audience.

What You'll Do

• Translate and localize marketing and life sciences content from English to Afrikaans.
• Utilize your proficiency in CAT tools such as XTM, Phrase, and Trados to enhance translation efficiency.
• Collaborate with a diverse team of linguistic professionals to maintain high standards of quality.
• Adapt content for cultural nuances, ensuring relevance and accuracy in translation.
• Engage in copy editing to refine and improve translated materials.
• Work remotely with a flexible schedule to meet project deadlines.
• Participate in ongoing training and development to stay updated on industry trends.
• Contribute to a growing network of resources and tools to support translation efforts.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years' experience in translation and copy editing, particularly in marketing and life sciences.
• Professional level understanding of English (US/GB) and native level expertise in Afrikaans.
• Proficient in various CAT tools such as XTM, Phrase, and Trados.
• Working knowledge of MS Office applications.
• Translation degree or equivalent experience preferred.
• Ability to understand and convey cultural nuances in language.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently.
