Founding Platform Engineer - AI Infrastructure

About the Role

We're looking for a Founding Platform Engineer to join our team remotely. As a key member of our Platform Engineering team, you will build, scale, and own the infrastructure that powers Magentic's AI procurement solution. This is a unique opportunity to help create a high-quality infrastructure from the ground up, rather than merely maintaining an existing system.

What You'll Do

• Manage all infrastructure as Code (IaC), avoiding ClickOps.
• Shape a multi-tenant, multi-cloud platform, deploying where our customers are, while adhering to IaC and GitOps best practices.
• Collaborate with the development team to design secure software delivery processes, including GitHub workflows and AI agent tooling.
• Enhance system observability for both AI and non-AI systems.
• Champion security, compliance, and automation to transform them into advantages rather than obstacles.

Requirements

• Deep expertise in cloud platforms, particularly Azure and/or AWS.
• Strong experience with containers and orchestration technologies.
• Enthusiasm for AI and the ability to leverage agent-assisted development.
• Experience managing production Kubernetes clusters and proficiency with kubectl.
• Ability to monitor, debug, and diagnose performance issues in production environments.
• Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with both engineers and business stakeholders.

Nice to Have

• Experience designing self-hosted, cloud-agnostic AI/ML infrastructure.
• Infrastructure/platform experience in B2B settings, such as Identity Federation.
