About the Role

We are seeking a Founding Engineer to join our team and help build the clean data layer for AI systems. This is a unique opportunity to work at an early-stage, YC-backed company that is transforming how businesses manage and utilize data. As a Founding Engineer - Clean Data Layer for AI Systems, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our platform, which aims to turn messy, unreliable data into accurate, validated inputs through a combination of AI and expert human review.

What You'll Do

  • Design and build backend systems for data extraction, validation, and retrieval.
  • Develop and optimize AI-powered workflows for speed, accuracy, and reliability.
  • Work across the stack, including Python services, data and LLM pipelines, and TypeScript-based interfaces.
  • Experiment with, fine-tune, and evaluate LLMs on real-world data challenges.
  • Build internal tools and automation to improve engineering velocity and data review quality.
  • Collaborate closely with the founder to shape product strategy and technical direction.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in full-stack, backend, or infrastructure engineering.
  • Strong software engineering fundamentals and ability to work across systems and data layers.
  • Experience with Python and enthusiasm for working with AI in production environments.
  • Familiarity with TypeScript or a willingness to learn quickly.
  • Comfort taking ownership from idea to shipped product in an early-stage setting.
  • A mix of technical competence, strong work ethic, curiosity, and kindness.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with data pipelines and LLM technologies.
  • Previous startup experience.
  • Knowledge of data validation techniques.
