Senior HVDC System Design Consultant - Remote Opportunity

What You'll Do
- Design and conduct feasibility studies for HVDC and AC systems, assessing CAPEX, OPEX, and constructability to meet customer needs.
- Lead and review electrical system studies, equipment design specifications, and general arrangements for HVDC systems and substations.
- Perform simulations and system studies, including dynamic modeling and stability analysis for HVDC systems.
- Develop control and protection strategies for HVDC multi-terminal projects, focusing on converter control and grid code compliance.
- Prepare specifications and support tender processes, ensuring solutions meet customer and regulatory requirements.
- Deliver high-quality reports and proposals to customers while collaborating on service portfolio development.
- Engage in business development with new and existing customers, building lasting relationships.
- Coach and mentor junior consultants, guiding their technical career growth.
Requirements
- A university degree (preferably a master’s degree or PhD) in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in HVDC projects, including various project development phases.
- Solid technical knowledge of HVDC integration studies, software tools, and regulatory standards (e.g., IEC, CIGRE, IEEE).
- Strong communication skills to simplify complex concepts and collaborate effectively.
- Willingness to travel up to 20% for client meetings and conferences.
Nice to Have
- Experience with multi-terminal HVDC systems and fault clearing strategies.
- Familiarity with industrial simulation tools (e.g., PSS®E, PSCAD, PSLF).
