Founding Backend Engineer - AI Spectrum Management

About the Role

We are seeking a Founding Backend Engineer to join our innovative startup focused on revolutionizing the AI operating system for radio frequency spectrum. This role is critical as we build a platform that modernizes how RF spectrum is accessed, managed, and shared, impacting industries like 5G, autonomous vehicles, and satellite communications. As a Founding Backend Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the foundation of our platform, leveraging your expertise to handle complex datasets and create resilient systems.

What You'll Do

• Architect core application logic and APIs, designing clean, extensible interfaces that encapsulate complex business logic while maintaining high-throughput performance.
• Build robust authentication and service orchestration, implementing secure identity management and ensuring resilient communication across distributed services.
• Optimize for performance and system health, leveraging your understanding of latency, throughput, and resource utilization to build highly responsive applications.
• Integrate and modernize disparate systems, reconciling fragmented schemas and normalizing inconsistent data formats from legacy sources into a coherent application layer.
• Collaborate closely with founders and cross-functional teams to drive the vision and execution of our platform.

Requirements

• Strong experience in Python for backend development, with proficiency in asynchronous programming and web framework internals.
• Expertise in Event-Driven Architectures (EDA), with experience in building scalable systems using Kafka or similar message brokers.
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure, particularly container orchestration (Kubernetes) and cloud-native design patterns.
• Ability to navigate shifting priorities in a fast-moving, high-impact environment.
• Experience in solving complex problems related to modernizing legacy systems and enabling secure communications.

Nice to Have

• Practical knowledge of Rust, focusing on building memory-safe, high-performance services.
