Finance Officer - Remote Opportunity

About the Role

We are seeking a Finance Officer to join our team in a remote capacity. As a Finance Officer, you will work closely with the finance senior management team to implement a technology-led, well-defined financial control, accounting, and treasury process. This role is crucial for supporting the growth of the BDO Group and ensuring the integrity of financial reporting.

What You'll Do

• Manage client billing and revenue recognition activities.
• Oversee financial control of projects within our Project Management applications.
• Handle accounts receivable and payable activities, including credit control and supplier management.
• Provide data to support cash flow management.
• Assist in preparing weekly/monthly payment runs and payroll processing.
• Maintain fixed asset registers and general ledgers across all legal entities.
• Conduct record keeping and archive management.
• Review outstanding invoices for approval and reconcile control accounts.
• Prepare quarterly GST returns and assist in balance sheet and income statement preparation.
• Ensure data integrity in all financial reporting and assist in the production of management accounts.

Requirements

• Strong analytical skills with a high level of numeracy.
• Proven experience in a busy finance environment, ideally within professional services.
• Formal accounting qualification or working towards one.
• Advanced skills in Excel and Word, with experience in financial systems such as Xero.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team and demonstrate core competencies in business thinking and decision-making.
