Europe Accounting & HR Generalist - Hybrid Role

About the Role

We are seeking a proactive and adaptable Europe Accounting & HR Generalist to support our operations in our European offices. This hybrid role combines core accounting responsibilities with HR generalist duties, including recruitment, onboarding, payroll support, and compliance with local labor laws. As a key player in our team, you will ensure accurate financial reporting and provide hands-on HR support across both countries, acting as a local point of contact for employees and external partners.

What You'll Do

  • Manage the German Office Workday procure-to-pay process, ensuring compliance with local regulations.
  • Reconcile expense claims and maintain proper documentation for tax and audit purposes.
  • Lead the credit control team and oversee billing processes for the office.
  • Drive process optimization and efficiency improvements within the accounting department.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for HR matters in Europe, maintaining accurate HR records in line with GDPR and local employment law.
  • Coordinate employee lifecycle processes including onboarding, probation reviews, contract management, and offboarding.
  • Lead end-to-end recruitment for roles in Europe, ensuring timely hiring and managing relationships with external recruiters.
  • Provide financial insights and support to other departments, acting as a business partner.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, HR Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience in a dual HR/Finance role, ideally supporting Germany, France, and the UK.
  • Strong understanding of European employment laws, payroll, and German accounting standards.
  • Hands-on experience with recruitment in European markets.
  • Fluent in English and German, with excellent organizational skills.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with HRIS and accounting tools (e.g., ADP, Jobvite, Workday).
  • High attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
