Engineering Lead - API Experience Team (Remote)

About the Role

We're looking for an experienced Engineering Lead - API Experience Team to join our remote team at Wise. As an Engineering Lead, you will be pivotal in shaping the developer experience for major enterprise partners, directly impacting their success and accelerating Wise’s time to revenue. This is a unique opportunity to lead and manage a team of engineers who are building the tooling and infrastructure that enables partners to securely integrate with Wise's API.

What You'll Do

• Lead a team of engineers to deliver a world-class developer experience.
• Champion robust security measures like mTLS and JOSE to protect partner data.
• Own the development of our self-service developer portal, streamlining processes for credential management and API monitoring.
• Enhance our Sandbox environment to accurately mirror production, giving partners ultimate confidence before going live.
• Mentor and foster an environment where engineers grow and succeed.

Requirements

• Expertise in Java or similar modern stacks.
• Experience with distributed systems and microservices.
• Strong product-led mindset with a track record of shipping successful customer-facing products.
• Excellent communication skills to translate technical concepts into plain English.
• Proven ability to lead small teams effectively.

Nice to Have

• Experience with API design and implementation.
• Knowledge of financial services or payment systems.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS or Azure.
