About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Director - Product (LLMs & Machine Learning) remote to lead multiple teams in a fast-growing deep tech organization. This role focuses on developing next-generation AI products at scale, particularly in the realm of Large Language Models (LLMs) and advanced machine learning systems. As an Engineering Director, you will play a pivotal role in shaping technical strategies and influencing product directions while collaborating closely with research, platform, and business stakeholders.

What You'll Do

  • Lead and mentor engineering managers and senior technical leaders across multiple teams.
  • Own strategy and execution for ML and LLM model development and evaluation.
  • Define best practices for experimentation, benchmarking, and reproducibility.
  • Drive cross-functional collaboration across Product, Research, Platform, and Leadership.
  • Oversee delivery timelines, technical risks, and resource planning.
  • Communicate technical progress and insights clearly to senior stakeholders.
  • Make high-impact technical trade-offs balancing performance, scalability, and efficiency.

Requirements

  • Strong, hands-on experience with LLMs and Machine Learning. No exceptions.
  • Master’s degree minimum in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, Physics, or similar.
  • Senior leadership experience managing multiple engineering or data teams.
  • Deep understanding of ML pipelines, model evaluation, and analytics frameworks.
  • Product-oriented mindset with experience delivering ML-powered products.
  • Excellent English communication skills.

  • Experience in hybrid working environments.
  • Familiarity with global visa sponsorship processes.
