Engineering Coach (Director/​VP+) - Remote

About the Role

We are looking for an Engineering Coach (Director/VP+) to join our team remotely. As an Engineering Coach, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of software engineering leaders. This position is perfect for senior leaders in software engineering roles who value learning, growth, and community. You will be passionate about developing and coaching individuals in their field, helping them thrive in their careers.

What You'll Do

• Provide 1:1 coaching to Mento members through virtual sessions using the Mento Platform and Tools.
• Participate in ongoing training sessions to enhance your coaching abilities and skills.
• Communicate with members via your Mento email or chat in the Mento App between sessions.
• Act as an ambassador of the Mento community, sharing coaching tools and insights to enhance coaching practices.
• Help members identify and track clear goals, improve their leadership skills, and foster effective communication.

Requirements

• 15+ years of experience managing engineering teams and coaching individuals.
• Deep engineering leadership experience, preferably in AI/ML, infrastructure, or security engineering.
• Experience leading teams through hypergrowth or organizational change.
• Strong emotional intelligence and self-awareness to create a safe space for others.
• A growth mindset and willingness to improve coaching skills.

Nice to Have

• Coaching certifications are valued but not required.
• Prior experience at technology companies.
