Engineering Associate - Remote Maintenance Specialist
About the Role
We are seeking an Engineering Associate - Remote Maintenance Specialist to join our team at Marriott International. In this role, you will respond to and attend to guest repair requests, ensuring a high level of service and satisfaction. As an Engineering Associate, you will work independently to resolve maintenance issues, perform preventive maintenance, and ensure that all equipment and systems are functioning optimally.
What You'll Do
- Respond to guest repair requests and communicate effectively to resolve maintenance issues.
- Perform preventive maintenance on tools and equipment, including cleaning and lubrication.
- Identify and operate all shut-off valves for equipment and maintain the maintenance inventory.
- Display advanced ability to read blueprints and electrical schematics related to plumbing and HVAC systems.
- Safely perform complex repairs on electrical, plumbing, and mechanical equipment with minimal supervision.
- Utilize the Lockout/Tagout system before performing maintenance work.
- Train and mentor other engineers as necessary, fostering a collaborative work environment.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures, reporting any maintenance problems or safety hazards.
Requirements
- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent with vocational or technical background.
- At least 2 years of experience in hotel engineering or maintenance.
- Universal Chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) Certification is required.
- Strong mechanical ability with proficiency in at least three of the following categories: electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and refrigeration.
- Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks as needed.
Nice to Have
- Experience in a supervisory role is a plus.
- Knowledge of energy conservation practices.
- Familiarity with engineering computer programs related to preventative maintenance.
