About the Role

We are seeking an Electrical Test Engineer - HL-LHC Superconducting Magnets (Remote) to join our dynamic team at CERN. This role is pivotal for ensuring the safe operation of superconducting magnet circuits for the High-Luminosity Large Hadron Collider (HL-LHC). You will engage in rigorous electrical qualification at both room temperature and cryogenic conditions (1.9 K), contributing to a variety of electrical test campaigns. This is an excellent opportunity for recent graduates or early-career engineers to gain hands-on experience in a highly collaborative, international research environment.

What You'll Do

  • Participate in the preparation and execution of electrical tests on HL-LHC magnets, interconnections, components, and circuits in test facilities.
  • Contribute to the improvement and documentation of test procedures.
  • Support the investigation of non-conformities through fault diagnostics and data analysis.
  • Assist in collecting, organizing, and analyzing electrical qualification data from internal teams and external collaborators.
  • Process, analyze, and visualize measurement data from superconducting circuits.

Requirements

  • Familiarity with electrical test setups or laboratory equipment.
  • Basic commissioning or maintenance of electrical systems.
  • Experience in electrical measurements and instrumentation.
  • Knowledge of data analysis, including introductory statistical methods.
  • Programming skills in Python or LabVIEW.
  • Data management experience with SQL or databases.
  • Technical documentation or report writing skills.
  • Exposure to superconducting systems or cryogenic environments is a plus.

  • Experience developing measurement methods or test equipment.
