Electrical Test Engineer - HL-LHC Superconducting Magnets (Remote)
About the Role
We are seeking an Electrical Test Engineer - HL-LHC Superconducting Magnets (Remote) to join our dynamic team at CERN. This role is pivotal for ensuring the safe operation of superconducting magnet circuits for the High-Luminosity Large Hadron Collider (HL-LHC). You will engage in rigorous electrical qualification at both room temperature and cryogenic conditions (1.9 K), contributing to a variety of electrical test campaigns. This is an excellent opportunity for recent graduates or early-career engineers to gain hands-on experience in a highly collaborative, international research environment.
What You'll Do
- Participate in the preparation and execution of electrical tests on HL-LHC magnets, interconnections, components, and circuits in test facilities.
- Contribute to the improvement and documentation of test procedures.
- Support the investigation of non-conformities through fault diagnostics and data analysis.
- Assist in collecting, organizing, and analyzing electrical qualification data from internal teams and external collaborators.
- Process, analyze, and visualize measurement data from superconducting circuits.
Requirements
- Familiarity with electrical test setups or laboratory equipment.
- Basic commissioning or maintenance of electrical systems.
- Experience in electrical measurements and instrumentation.
- Knowledge of data analysis, including introductory statistical methods.
- Programming skills in Python or LabVIEW.
- Data management experience with SQL or databases.
- Technical documentation or report writing skills.
- Exposure to superconducting systems or cryogenic environments is a plus.
