Director of Sales & Events - Remote Opportunity
About the Role
We are seeking a passionate and results-oriented Director of Sales & Events to join our team in a remote capacity. As the driving force behind our hotel's revenue generation efforts, you will lead our dynamic sales team to new heights of success. This role is pivotal in representing a newly renovated upscale Full Service Boutique Hotel & Conference Center in the state capital of Kentucky!
What You'll Do
- Develop and execute strategic sales initiatives to maximize profitability and market share.
- Identify key market segments and cultivate relationships with high-value clients.
- Lead the sales team in generating leads, negotiating contracts, and closing deals to achieve and exceed sales targets.
- Provide visionary leadership and mentorship to the sales team, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.
- Conduct a minimum of 20-35 qualified outside sales calls weekly to drive new business.
- Utilize yield management techniques to negotiate room rates and function space commitments.
- Maintain accurate and organized file management systems to serve clients effectively.
- Focus on revenue-producing activities, dedicating at least 90% of your work time to direct sales efforts.
Requirements
- Proven track record of success in hotel sales and marketing in a leadership role.
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Hotel & Restaurant Management, Business Administration, Finance, or related field preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Valid driver’s license and dependable transportation.
