Director of Product Management - Data Remote

About the Role

We are seeking a Director of Product Management - Data Remote to lead GitLab’s data product strategy and delivery. As a key member of our leadership team, you will drive the vision for a reporting platform that enhances customer understanding and improves software delivery. This role is pivotal in shaping the future of our data products, ensuring they align with our mission to empower organizations in their digital transformation journey.

What You'll Do

• Set the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for GitLab’s data product area, focusing on analytics and reporting platforms.
• Lead and develop a team of product managers, providing clear priorities and coaching to support high-quality execution in a remote environment.
• Partner closely with engineering leadership to shape system-level architecture and align technical investments with customer outcomes.
• Define and deliver core analytics experiences for GitLab customers, including dashboards for engineering efficiency and DORA metrics.
• Drive the go-to-market strategy for monetizing data capabilities, identifying target customer cohorts and defining packaging for data products.
• Lead 0 to 1 product work for emerging capabilities like the GitLab Knowledge Graph, enhancing analytics and AI outcomes.
• Ensure the data platform supports GitLab’s internal reporting needs, aligning stakeholders on data quality and trusted metrics.

Requirements

• Deep experience leading product management for data platforms in enterprise software or SaaS.
• Proven ability to take data products from 0 to 1, including defining vision and delivering scalable products.
• Strong systems thinking and comfort operating across a complex data ecosystem.
• Experience developing monetization strategies for complex data products.
• Director-level leadership experience, managing and developing product managers.
• Excellent cross-functional partnership skills, especially with engineering leadership.
• Executive-level communication skills, with experience leading strategic conversations.
• Ability to work autonomously in a fully remote environment.

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with AI and machine learning applications in product management.
• Experience in building analytics capabilities in a remote-first company.
• Knowledge of GitLab’s product suite and its application in software development.
