About the Role
We are seeking a Director of Delivery Engineering to lead our remote team at Galaxy. As a leader in digital assets and data center infrastructure, you will play a crucial role in enhancing our developer experience and ensuring the successful delivery of our innovative solutions. This Director of Delivery Engineering remote position offers an exciting opportunity to shape the future of finance and artificial intelligence through blockchain technology.
What You'll Do
- Lead & deliver: Set technical direction, break down roadmaps, and guide engineers through design, implementation, and rollout of DevEx initiatives.
- Own CI/CD: Standardize build/test/release workflows using Jenkins and GitHub, creating reusable pipelines and shared libraries.
- Run GitOps at scale: Operate and evolve Flux-based GitOps for environment promotion, rollback, and drift detection across multiple clusters.
- Package & deploy: Define and maintain Helm chart standards, release processes, and documentation for service teams.
- Kubernetes platform: Design guardrails, multi-tenant patterns, and golden templates on EKS.
- Hybrid environments: Build consistent developer workflows spanning AWS and on-prem datacenters.
- Observability & reliability: Establish SLOs for platform services; integrate logs/metrics/traces, progressive delivery, and automated rollback.
- Security & compliance: Embed security scanning and policy-as-code into pipelines and cluster admission.
- Enablement: Produce high-quality documentation and run office hours to upskill teams.
- Stakeholder management: Partner with Security, SRE, and product teams to communicate trade-offs and progress.
Requirements
- 7+ years in platform, DevOps, or SRE roles, including 2+ years leading or mentoring engineers.
- Proven track record of delivering platform capabilities used by multiple teams.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong technical leadership for platform/DevEx/infra teams.
- Significant experience in AWS and on-prem environments.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD design and software delivery strategies.
- Understanding of SRE fundamentals including reliability and capacity planning.
Nice to Have
- Experience with Kubernetes variants like GKE or Rancher.
- Exposure to Azure and Google Cloud.
- Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform.
- Proficiency in programming languages used for platform automation (e.g., Go, Python).
