Director of Credit and Underwriting - Remote Position

About the Role

We are seeking a Director of Credit and Underwriting to join our team in a fully remote capacity. In this role, you will lead the credit and underwriting functions for our equipment finance division, ensuring that we maintain high standards of risk management while supporting our growth objectives. As a Director of Credit and Underwriting remote position, you will have the opportunity to shape our credit strategy and drive impactful decisions that affect our portfolio.

What You'll Do

• Develop and implement credit policies and underwriting guidelines that align with our business objectives.
• Oversee the evaluation of credit risk for new loan transactions, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
• Lead a team of underwriting professionals, providing mentorship and fostering a culture of excellence.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance our underwriting processes and improve efficiency.
• Utilize data analytics and financial modeling to assess creditworthiness and make informed lending decisions.
• Engage in ongoing training and development initiatives to ensure team members are equipped with the latest industry knowledge.
• Monitor and report on portfolio performance, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
• Ensure adherence to BSA/AML compliance and other banking regulations.

Requirements

• Minimum of 8 years of experience in credit underwriting, with a focus on equipment finance.
• Strong understanding of credit risk management principles and regulatory compliance.
• Proven leadership experience in managing teams and driving performance.
• Excellent analytical skills, with proficiency in financial modeling and credit analysis.
• Experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud and AWS Cloud is a plus.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote environment.

Nice to Have

• Experience in structured lending and commercial real estate financing.
• Familiarity with Confluent Kafka and Node.js.
• Knowledge of fraud detection and risk assessment methodologies.
