Desktop Publisher Specialist - Remote Position

About the Role

We are seeking a talented Desktop Publisher Specialist - Remote to join our dynamic team at SCT. In this role, you will provide essential technical editing, formatting, and accessibility compliance support for U.S. Coast Guard publications. This is a full-time remote position, allowing you to work from anywhere while contributing to mission-critical operations.

What You'll Do

• Perform copy editing, line editing, and proofreading to ensure high-quality publications.
• Apply Coast Guard-approved templates and formatting standards to all documents.
• Conduct Section 508 tagging and basic remediation for accessibility compliance.
• Process ALCOAST messages during assigned coverage windows efficiently.
• Support S+ Superspeed publication workflows to enhance productivity.
• Maintain publication metadata in the Power Apps library for easy access.
• Integrate and review Coast Guard forms to ensure compliance alignment.
• Coordinate directly with Sponsors to refine drafts and ensure clarity.
• Validate plain language and grammatical accuracy in all publications.

Requirements

• 2–5 years of editing and publication support experience or a Bachelor’s degree.
• Proficiency in Microsoft 365, Adobe Pro, and SharePoint.
• Beginning to intermediate proficiency in Power Apps.
• Strong mastery of English grammar and style.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC).
• Experience applying Section 508 compliance standards.
