Department Manager - Manufacturing Operations

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Department Manager to oversee our manufacturing operations remotely. As a Department Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful execution of manufacturing activities while adhering to safety and company policies.

What You'll Do

• Oversee and manage manufacturing activities within designated departments.
• Collaborate with all manufacturing and support function managers to ensure the execution of planned activities.
• Implement lean methodologies to enhance operational efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with all OSHA and Flint Group safety standards.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives to achieve zero recordable incidents.
• Coach and motivate employees to foster a safe and productive work environment.
• Prepare and present weekly operations reports to highlight performance metrics.
• Support department supervisors in meeting quality, performance, cost, and delivery targets.

Requirements

• 10-12 years of relevant experience in process manufacturing.
• Strong leadership skills with a coaching mentality.
• Excellent communication skills at all levels.
• Experience in applying lean methodologies.
• High School Diploma or GED; an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a technical field is preferred.
• Green Belt or Black Belt Training/Certification is a plus.

Nice to Have

• Experience with SAP for inventory management.
• Knowledge of root cause analysis methodologies.
• Previous experience in a remote management role.
