Department Manager - Manufacturing Operations
About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Department Manager to oversee our manufacturing operations remotely. As a Department Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful execution of manufacturing activities while adhering to safety and company policies.
What You'll Do
- Oversee and manage manufacturing activities within designated departments.
- Collaborate with all manufacturing and support function managers to ensure the execution of planned activities.
- Implement lean methodologies to enhance operational efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with all OSHA and Flint Group safety standards.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to achieve zero recordable incidents.
- Coach and motivate employees to foster a safe and productive work environment.
- Prepare and present weekly operations reports to highlight performance metrics.
- Support department supervisors in meeting quality, performance, cost, and delivery targets.
Requirements
- 10-12 years of relevant experience in process manufacturing.
- Strong leadership skills with a coaching mentality.
- Excellent communication skills at all levels.
- Experience in applying lean methodologies.
- High School Diploma or GED; an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a technical field is preferred.
- Green Belt or Black Belt Training/Certification is a plus.
Nice to Have
- Experience with SAP for inventory management.
- Knowledge of root cause analysis methodologies.
- Previous experience in a remote management role.
