About the Role

We are seeking a talented Deep Learning Engineer for Language Technologies to join our innovative team at the Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC). This remote position offers a unique opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects in natural language processing (NLP) and deep learning, contributing to significant advancements in AI technologies.

What You'll Do

• Collaborate with colleagues to design and implement solutions that meet the group's goals in language modeling.
• Contribute to the pre-training and post-training of language models, ensuring high-quality performance in a remote HPC environment.
• Deploy models for inference efficiently, supporting internal evaluations and experimentation workflows.
• Optimize existing pipelines and workflows to maximize resource utilization and scalability.
• Propose and design new research projects, translating innovative ideas into experiments and publications.
• Maintain high standards of code quality and documentation to facilitate team collaboration.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Machine Learning, or a related technical field.
• 5+ years of experience in Natural Language Processing projects.
• 5+ years of professional experience in Python development.
• Proven track record of publications in major AI venues.
• Advanced knowledge of High Performance Computing (HPC) and tools like PyTorch, Megatron-LM, and Transformers.

Nice to Have

• Basic knowledge of mathematics and statistics applied to Deep Learning.
• Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Weights & Biases or TensorBoard.
• Experience with containerization tools like Docker.
