Data Engineer - AWS & Python for Medical Robotics

About the Role

We're hiring a Data Engineer to join our innovative team in Utrecht, Netherlands. As a Data Engineer, you'll play a crucial role in transforming real-world device data into actionable insights that enhance patient care. This Data Engineer position offers a unique opportunity to work on the world's first autonomous blood-drawing robot, which has already secured CE approval and is set for large-scale deployment.

What You'll Do

• Design and maintain production-grade ETL and ELT pipelines in a cloud-native environment.
• Develop Python-based data pipelines using modern libraries like Polars, ensuring reliability and traceability.
• Collaborate with a Senior Data Engineer to enhance performance and robustness of data systems.
• Investigate data issues and extend automated quality checks for improved data integrity.
• Translate business requirements into clean datasets and actionable dashboards for stakeholders.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience with AWS-native services and DataOps practices.
• 3-5 years of experience in data engineering, backend engineering, or analytics-focused roles.
• Strong proficiency in Python programming.
• Hands-on experience with ETL or ELT pipelines in data lake or lakehouse environments.
• Familiarity with modern data tooling such as Polars and Pandas.

Nice to Have

• Experience in delivering clean and insightful dashboards to business stakeholders.
• Knowledge of machine learning and AI workflows.
