About the Role

The Educational Empowerment Group is seeking a passionate and dedicated Construction/Carpentry Instructor for the Ohio Construction Academy (OCA) located in Columbus, Ohio. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of students in the construction and carpentry fields. As a Construction/Carpentry Instructor, you will play a vital role in addressing the national crisis of skilled labor shortages in the building trades industry. This position is designed for those who are committed to empowering the next generation of trades specialists through innovative teaching methods and hands-on experience.

What You'll Do

  • Teach students using the NCCER curriculum, ensuring they achieve module success and receive their NCCER certifications at levels one and two.
  • Guide students towards entering apprenticeship programs or securing employment upon graduation.
  • Foster a creative and innovative learning environment that supports daily student engagement and success.
  • Encourage student participation in trade competitions and other activities to showcase their skills and achievements.
  • Assist the School Administrator with recruitment, building management, family and community relations, and other assigned duties.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma (Required).
  • OSHA Certification (Required).
  • Journeyman Level Experience or CTE Instructor Certification (Preferred).
  • Knowledge of NCCER Certification (Plus).
  • Certification by the Ohio Department of Education to instruct.
  • Ability to work effectively with today’s youth (Required).

Nice to Have

  • Experience in teaching or mentoring in a construction-related field.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet diverse learning styles.
