Compliance Engineer - Remote Opportunities Available

About the Role

Join Babcock International as a Compliance Engineer in a role that offers the chance to work remotely while contributing to national security and engineering excellence. As a Compliance Engineer, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and compliance of high-hazard operations at our HMNB Clyde Faslane site. This position allows you to apply your engineering knowledge in a dynamic defense environment, supporting activities that are crucial for maintaining our fleet, assets, and infrastructure.

What You'll Do

• Support compliance monitoring across high-risk engineering activities, including design, installation, maintenance, testing, and inspection.
• Provide clear advice and guidance to operational departments, contractors, and project teams.
• Develop technical competence to become a topic specialist in key engineering areas.
• Contribute to compliance checks, incident investigations, and planned audit activities.
• Build knowledge of industry best practices for asset care, working at height, confined spaces, lifting operations, pressure systems, and electrical testing.

Requirements

• Experience working within a highly regulated, high-hazard industrial environment.
• Operational experience within at least one relevant discipline (e.g., lifting operations, pressure systems, electrical testing, working at height, confined spaces).
• Understanding of engineering compliance, safety management, and regulatory frameworks.
• Ability to interpret technical information and provide clear, practical guidance.
• Comfortable engaging with diverse stakeholders across engineering and operations.

Nice to Have

• HNC or equivalent qualification in a relevant engineering discipline (Electrical, Mechanical, Building Services, or Fire Management Disciplines).
• IOSH Managing Safely or IOSH Risk Management qualification.
