About the Role

We are seeking a talented Cloud Networking Engineer to join our dynamic team at Apple. As a part of the Apple Cloud Networking team, you will contribute to the design, development, and support of critical systems that deliver Apple’s services to billions of customers worldwide.

What You'll Do

• Build and operationalize platforms for large-scale distributed systems, ensuring high performance and reliability.
• Engage in the end-to-end design, development, and support of cloud networking solutions.
• Provide technical leadership on high-impact projects, influencing and driving multi-functional teams.
• Champion foundational software and systems development principles.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to balance priorities, deadlines, and deliverables.

Requirements

• Strong software development skills in compiled languages such as Golang, with experience in version control systems (Git) and CI systems (Jenkins).
• Understanding of virtualization and containerization technologies (Docker, VMs, Kubernetes).
• Solid grasp of networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), and network troubleshooting.
• Hands-on experience with large-scale production systems and strong debugging skills.
• Outstanding communication skills to articulate concepts, designs, and decisions effectively.

Nice to Have

• BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools (Ansible, Puppet, Terraform).
• Knowledge of SDN protocols and APIs (NETCONF, gRPC, gNMI, OpenFlow).
• Experience building monitoring and observability platforms (Prometheus, Grafana).
